“For the last fifteen years of my life it’s defined me and I wouldn’t have it any other way... it brings people a good laugh, I love it.” - John Cena on “You can’t see me”
Ferdinand is the latest animated 3D comedy produced by Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox Animation starring the voice of John Cena. Cena has been one of the busiest men in the world, juggling sports, acting, voiceover, modeling, and more.
Ferdinand follows the giant bull with a big heart Ferdinand (John Cena). He is taken away from his family and must find his way back home to Spain. He rallies a group of misfits to go on an outrageous adventure to find his family. Also joining the cast of voiceover actors are: Kate McKinnon, Bobby Cannavale, Raúl Esparza, Jeremy Sisto, and NFL heavyweight Peyton Manning. The story is based on the beloved children’s book The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson.
John Cena was known for being the biggest WWE superstar in the world. After costarring in Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck in 2015, his acting career has soared and has since become one of the busiest working men in Hollywood. Ferdinand marks his fourth time lending his voice to an animated film. He starred earlier in the year in hits like Daddy’s Home 2 and The Wall. He will also star in next years Psych: The Movie, Bumblebee, and Blockers.
Rachel Kasuch of Film Inside sat down with John Cena to discuss his very busy schedule and the making of Ferdinand. Cena opens up about pet peeves, his famous joke “You Can’t See Me”, and getting back into the ring. “The only hold up there is I’m currently filming another project and they won’t let me leave,” says Cena. “Because if I go ahead and get my nose broken and come back it messes them up. So hopefully as soon as I’m done with that I’ll be able to go right back, and I look forward to that.” To see more of what John Cena has to say watch the exclusive video interview below.
