Company Cue writer Rachel Kasuch talks with Patrick Wilson about his role in the upcoming film "The Commuter."


Patrick Wilson joins Liam Neeson and Vera Farmiga in the action packed thriller The Commuter directed by Jaume Collet-Sera.

Patrick Wilson stars in the action packed thriller The Commuter alongside seasoned action hero Liam Neeson. Wilson is also joined by Vera Farmiga; the pair starred together in the mega successful horror films The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2. A versatile actor, Patrick Wilson has acted on the Broadway stage in plays and musicals, as well as many films like Hard Candy and Young Adult. The Commuter is the first action thriller of the year led by an all-star cast. 

 

The Commuter focuses on ordinary businessman Michael MacCauley (Liam Neeson). As MacCauley takes his daily commuter train home, he is approached by a strange woman (Vera Farmiga), who pressures him into a deadly government conspiracy game. He is forced to fight for the life of his family. Alex Murphy (Patrick Wilson) is a cop who follows the high speed chase to stop the game before it is too late. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Sera (Non-Stop, Unknown). 

 

Two time Tony nominee Patrick Wilson has been seen in many films, television shows, plays, and musicals int he last decade. He also has starred in the Insidious franchise, with Insidious: The Last Key just opening weeks ago. In addition to these films, he will also star in this years highly anticipated comic book adaptation of Aquaman, directed by James Wan of The Conjuring and Insidious series. 

 

Our reporter Rachel Kasuch met with Patrick Wilson to discuss the making of The Commuter. In addition to the film, Wilson talks about stepping up, action scenes, risking his life, and whether or not he can watch himself on film. “I’m pretty good at separating,” admits Wilson. “I’m not one of those guys who has to run out of the room, it is what it is, and sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not so good. Sometimes I wish I could do it again.”

Liam Neeson stars in The Commuter, a high tension thriller that follows an everyday man caught in a government conspiracy. The film joins the likes of Liam Neeson led action movies like Unknown, The Grey, Non-Stop, and the Taken series. The Oscar nominated actor joins a talented cast to tell the edge of your seat story that never stops once the train starts rolling. 

 

The Commuter follows businessman Michael MacCauley (Liam Neeson), who hops on a commuter train to head home from work like any other day. He meets Joanna (Vera Farmiga) who entices MacCauley to play a game with a cash reward. Soon MacCauley finds himself in a deadly criminal conspiracy that threatens him and his family. The Commuter also stars Patrick Wilson (The Conuring), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Elizabeth McGovern (Downton Abbey), and Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad). The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who previously directed Liam Neeson in Unknown and Non-Stop.

 

Liam Neeson is one of Hollywood’s most prolific actors, one who has a large variety of work. On top of playing action heroes, he also does voice-over work in films like A Monster Calls, as well as comedies like A Million Ways 

to Die in the West. In addition to The Commuter, Neeson will star in this years Hard Powder opposite Laura Dern, and in Steve McQueen’s highly anticipated Widows with Daniel Kaluuya. 

 

Our reporter Rachel Kasuch met with Liam Neeson to discuss The Commuter. Neeson opens up about doing fight sequences, keeping fit, and being bullied. “I was bullied myself as a kid,” admits Neeson. “I subsequently met my bully again when he was sixteen, and we became pals. Daisy Ridley reprises her role as heroine Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi opposite Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.

It’s been a long two years since we saw Rey (Daisy Ridley) standing on top of a mountain opposite Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in the Star Wars smash The Force Awakens. Sure, we got a side chapter in last years excellent Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but the time has finally come to see what happens next in the iconic series. Daisy Ridley became an overnight sensation as the female hero in Disney’s new evolution of the Star Wars franchise and returns in the Rian Johnson directed chapter The Last Jedi. 

 

Star Wars: The Last Jedi picks up right where The Force Awakens left off. Rey, with her new Jedi powers, is introduced to the Jedi world by Luke Skywalker. She joins forces with Finn, Poe, and Leia to unlock the Force’s mysteries of the past. Also joining the cast are Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Billie Lourd, and Benicio Del Toro. This also marks as Carrie Fishers last performance as Leia, following her tragic death during the filming of The Last Jedi last year. 

 

Daisy Ridley burst on the scene after 2015’s The Force Awakens and has since been busy with several huge projects. She starred earlier in the year in the smash hit adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express directed by Kenneth Branagh. She will star in next years films Peter Rabbit as Cottontail, and will play the titular role in Shakespeare’s Ophelia. And then of course, she will return as Rey in 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX. 

 

Our reporter Rachel Kasuch met with Daisy Ridley to discuss the making of The Last Jedi. Ridley talks about strong women, being tested in life, and meeting Prince Harry and Prince William when they visited the set. “I think they were most excited about lightsabers,” admits Ridley. “I took them around the creatures workshop and costume and everything like that. It was wonderful seeing an appreciation for all of the work that goes on behind the scenes.”
