“I’m very stubborn. There are times when I try to tell myself ‘Just walk away, it’s not a big deal’, but I’m a little hot headed.” - Anna Kendrick on being a fighter
Anna Kendrick and her Bellas are back for more competitive acapella singing for the third time in Pitch Perfect 3. After Pitch Perfect took the world by storm in 2012, the series has become a trilogy of pop music Aca-awesomeness. The film introduced the world to aca-puns, Glee style mashups, and comedian Rebel Wilson. This is the direct follow up to 2015’s Pitch Perfect 2.
Pitch Perfect 3 picks up after the Bellas won the World Championship in acapella singing. The girls have now found themselves living life as adults, and as a result, they have lost touch with each other. They are reunited for an opportunity to compete in an overseas USO tour, but find themselves faced up against an incredible group who uses instruments and vocals, posing as the ultimate threat. Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Ester Dean, John Michael Higgins, Elizabeth Banks, Hailee Stanfield, and Ruby Rose costar.
Anna Kendrick burst on the Hollywood scene after starring in 2009’s Up In The Air, earning her an Oscar nomination. She is now one of Hollywood’s most sought after actresses as she can act in dramas like The Accountant and do musical theater in works like Into The Woods. She will reprise her role in the upcoming Trolls 2, as well as play Nicole Claus in Noelle, and will star in next years A Simple Favor.
Our reporter Rachel Kasuch met with Anna Kendrick to discuss Pitch Perfect 3. Kendrick talks being bullied, being a fighter, working with a group of women, and more about Pitch Perfect 3. Kendrick also opens up on the pressures of singing in films, which takes a lot of work. “It’s stressful and you have to really take care of your body to sing. You can’t have cheese and you can’t drink alcohol and I can’t live like that,” admits Kendrick. “Every time I think I’m out they suck me back in and then I have to start living in a healthy way which is so boring.”
