Patrick Wilson stars in the action packed thriller The Commuter alongside seasoned action hero Liam Neeson. Wilson is also joined by Vera Farmiga; the pair starred together in the mega successful horror films The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2. A versatile actor, Patrick Wilson has acted on the Broadway stage in plays and musicals, as well as many films like Hard Candy and Young Adult. The Commuter is the first action thriller of the year led by an all-star cast.
The Commuter focuses on ordinary businessman Michael MacCauley (Liam Neeson). As MacCauley takes his daily commuter train home, he is approached by a strange woman (Vera Farmiga), who pressures him into a deadly government conspiracy game. He is forced to fight for the life of his family. Alex Murphy (Patrick Wilson) is a cop who follows the high speed chase to stop the game before it is too late. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Sera (Non-Stop, Unknown).
Two time Tony nominee Patrick Wilson has been seen in many films, television shows, plays, and musicals int he last decade. He also has starred in the Insidious franchise, with Insidious: The Last Key just opening weeks ago. In addition to these films, he will also star in this years highly anticipated comic book adaptation of Aquaman, directed by James Wan of The Conjuring and Insidious series.
Our reporter Rachel Kasuch met with Patrick Wilson to discuss the making of The Commuter. In addition to the film, Wilson talks about stepping up, action scenes, risking his life, and whether or not he can watch himself on film. “I’m pretty good at separating,” admits Wilson. “I’m not one of those guys who has to run out of the room, it is what it is, and sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not so good. Sometimes I wish I could do it again.”
